    Chef Shailesh's Bio

    My name is Shailesh,

     

    I was born and raised in India. My passion for food has developed as I grew up in the lanes of Mumbai, which are famous for street food. I completed my Culinary Management in 2001 and began my cooking career at The Oberoi group of hotels in India (2001-2005) where I worked with World class Chefs and sharpened my skills and basics. In 2006 I joined the "Le Meridien" hotel were I worked as a Sous Chef, supervising a staff of 12 and immediately raising the standards in the kitchen. I have also worked 4 years on Disney Cruise lines were I discovered different flavors and tastes.

    I arrived in Canada in 2010 and earned a Red Seal Certificate for Chefs. I work as a Sous Chef at the Sheraton hotel, supervising a staff of 18. I introduced Indian menu in our banquet facility and incorporated Indian dishes in the Sheraton menu. Our guests love it!
